How pretty. I love the birds. For some reason, I'd crop part of the area in the foreground and more of the sky to create a rectangle, but that's just a nitpick. :)

The monochrome does this justice. Only thing I dislike is how the birds on the side almost get absorbed into the plane behind them. Otherwise - awesome shot.

At first I was going to deduct some points because I felt like the birds are much more the main subject then the planes. But then I saw the title, so I forgive you :-)

great them airplane and birds...must have been patient (or lucky) to get the birds in flight....monotone presents an interesting temperature and mood to the image

Upon 3rd and 4th viewing, I went back and bumped this up from an 8 to a 9. I'm not positive, but I think the vastness of the sky overwhelms just a bit and keeps me from bumping to a 10. But the birds in flight with the backdrop of the planes is excellent.
