Very well done... The photoshop effect turned out great. The only real problem in my opinion is the red of the tail light of the passing car (Though i realize theres nothing you could have done about that by dpchallenge rules)

nice use of channel desaturation. i can't believe people even get called on this anymore. not sure it's standard photojournalist procedure, but it definitally works for the shot.

Filters. A guess. If so, great. People forget how to do the basics.

Probably killed by the front of a car...missing in the composition. Good job on the effect.

I'm not sure the selective color was necessary here, as there isn't much to draw attention away from the subject as it is. Composing the image from the other side, to include the long shadows of the cross and candle, mioght have been a good idea.

The red color over the B&W looks very nice for this picture. Composition is good.

Notice the jeeps tailight is red. How did you do this?
11/26/2002 12:57:00 AM
Too bad the reflector on the car stayed red too. Overall well done -7

I would love to know how you do that. I would have cropped out the car. Good image though.

Very sad isn't it? This is a simple composition that makes me feel emotion. I'd call that successful. The coloring is very good. I think it all could be a little sharper. Overall I like it. Best of luck in the challenge. Please remember to keep an open mind when voting. Grayce aka Gracious

I like it. It is daring reminds me of The Wizard of Oz, when her dream goes from b/w to colorful

There's too much of this now days, especially for our teenagers. Nice shot. I'm assuming your color is legal. I'm sure it's been questioned. Good execution and good composition. Nice crop. Nice focus Good subject. PTL7

Is this image legal within the DPC guidelines? By the way, it is a nice shot.
