About the right and left side: This is the cleanest crop possible. More to the right is a sign for tourists and a modern kind of fish boot and parkinglots in front of the houses. More to the left is a pump for ships and there were some high cars spoiling the classic buildings.
The best time for shooting this is on a cold clear Sunday morning, from the ice in the harbour when it is there and stand back more. Because you are deeper in comparison to the walls, the angle of view takes out the cars and most modern stuff and shows the tower in its 'natural' surroundings with old houses in the background. Doesn't happen often.
So now it was centered. That's why I stood back and let the wooden landing stage lead the eye into the pic.

(1) COMPOSITION (CONTENT) - I really like the tower. Historic location, and something that probably should not be sold. However, the photo would have a lot more impact if it were not so centered. There are some excellent buildings on the right, and probably on the left, along with a boat. I think I would like to see more of the buildings on the right, so move the tower to the left center of the photo. (2) BACKGROUND ΓΆ€“ Just a great blue sky; beautifully sets off the tower. (3) CAMERA WORK ,TECHNICAL ΓΆ€“ Great focus and DOF. (4) DIGITAL PROCESSING ,TECHNICAL ΓΆ€“ No recommended changes. (5) MY OPINION ON THE PHOTO ΓΆ€“ When I first looked at the photo, I knew it was in the Netherlands, and I liked it; brilliant blue sky sets off the tower. I think a title that indicated what it was sold for ( or to) would have strengthened the entry for the challenge. The viewer is left wondering ΓΆ€“ will it be knocked down ? turned into a restaurant?

Good, crisp focus, good color saturation, interesting subject. A perspective that would put it off-center would improve it though. I'd like to see more of the houses on the right included, with their interesting rooflines. Overall nice, but could use some improvement. Grayce |

A title alone won't make it. |

Good photo. Beautiful sky. Try taking the tower either a little left or right ( not so centered). 8 Jim msp |
