This is rather a tough but more dangerous hike since the snow made this a bit tricky going over one of the passes in getting to Bell cave. This hike will be remembered as the one where I made it, but my camera did not. With the take of this the casing was already cracked open and I was surprised it could still take pictures and even exchange lenses for that matter. I figured that if the shutter still clicks..and the communication is still there between processor and memory card..no reason to stop shooting.

I must admit it was not a great feeling seeing the insides of my camera. It's currently in for repairs so Im out of action for quiet a while it would seem. I did the industrial shoot with it as well but after that realised I cant delay this any longer.

Im surprised that they can even repair it. I thought it would be a write off. Fortunately it's insured as the costs to repair are just crazy.

Awesome shot Rian. Bad luck with the camera. Lucky you didn't crack your skull!
I'm on the hunt for a 10-20mm or 12-24mm atm in either APS-C or FF. Was in Cape Town for a week and most of my work was done with a Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG Full Frame on DX sensor so not as wide as I'd like.

Colors are a bit oversaturated but this is one of the best landscape shots I've seen in DPC. I gave you a 9.

Breathtaking!
I can imagine the hard work in getting here at the perfect time carrying all of your photo gear in such chilly weather. I must say that the picture is worth it - rooting for a ribbon for this.

Beautiful view and I can't imagine what it was like to be standing in that spot seeing the view in person. Must have been breathtaking! Great shot!

Great image. Great colour through the sky.....Would have liked more of it to be visible. I would really like to see more of the view, especially to the right side, as there looks to be more areas of interest to that side........The contrast between the snow and the sky are great........
