Downtown Dallas just after sunset.
Well, this was easy to edit! If this were basic editing, I'd have cropped a little bit off the top, as all that empty sky is not doing anything for the image. Took about a dozen shots to get this right. I almost forgot about setting white balance, since I am so used to having after the fact control over it in RAW. A review of the first several images onscreen revealed that oops. This ended up being the very last frame I shot before packing it in. I'm pretty happy with it, though a little more saturation in the colors would have been nice. I would have done a few more shots and played with the style settings some, but my grandkids were with me and one of them was doing the potty-waddle. If it was the boy, I would have just told him to find a convenient bush.
One interesting thing I found, that I had not thought of, was that the lights on aircraft made swoopy and jagged lines across the sky during an exposure of a few seconds. Another thing to keep in mind for minimal editing rules in the future.
Anticipated critiques:
Figuring that the critical stuff will be fairly restrained under basic rules, but if I could have fixed anything in PP, I would address the following:
-Needs a little more saturation on the colors.
-Needs a bit of that empty sky cropped off the top.
Post-challenge notes:
Placed pretty well and pulled a decent average for the limitations of this challenge. I'm pleased with it. Here's the same shot, but doen from the RAW file and done under advanced editing rules:
