 Rotated and cropped;Desaturated in channels, darked blues; duplicated layers and multiplied with mask to vingette and get some details in shadow; flattened and cloned out some leaves and some junk on the egret's bill; Local contrast USM, then USM, saved for web and added border.

Oh. Wow. I fully expect to see this on the front page. The detail in the speaker and the bird are wonderful, as is the expert rendering in B&W. 8 from me.

Beautiful image. The bird is nice and sharp as is the speaker. It has urban... and Nature... so it works well for this challenge. It seems a little dark on my monitor, but I am on my laptop so I'm not saying that's true or deducting points because of it. Still a great shot. 7
