Challenge: Once in a Blue Moon (Advanced Editing I)
Camera: Nikon D100
Location: On my pool table :)
Date: Aug 1, 2004
ISO: 200
Galleries: Still Life, Studio
Date Uploaded: Aug 1, 2004

Removed specs from background, cropped, adjusted saturations, removed the serial number with a touch of cloning and healing for security reasons, and did a little color replacement on metal parts of the gun to look a little more 'blue' -- didn't want to take it too blue since it just made it look goofy.

i didn't mark this down because i don't like the subject matter. I just don't like guns.my original comment should have been "nice comp, good lighting, I hate guns!"

You have very nice lighting, good exposure and focus. Composition seems a bit crowded at the top and right. I also think the bullets should not be perfectly aligned.

Good concept. Your black background may have let you down a little. You have isolated the wooded part of the handle which intended or not does help to highlight the blue steel and the front sight has almost disappeared.

The phot is very clear and the composition is good. I think the darkness of the photograph is very appropriate for the subject matter.

I was thinking about using a blued gun in a shot too! Nice work here. Good alignment of the elements, good choice of background, it works nicely. A little more light might help, back by the grip it's a little dark. I like how the six cartridges represent the six-shooter.

I wonder if a lot of people won't understand "Blue Steel" because they might not know what blued steel is... you might get a lot of "there's no blue in it" comments.
