Composition - this is as classic as it gets in terms of composition. Really beautiful the way your focus is directly in that top left corner and there your eyes are kind of naturally led around the picture.
Exposure - great job. Love the way you can see every vein in the leaf. Also there are no overtly bright spots which is much easier on the eye.
Color - Though I like the color, it would be interesting to see what this photo would have looked like in black and white, or possibly sepia. I like how the only color in the photo is really your focus though too... just curious to know how it looks in b/w
Focus - great DOF. I love how the focus is purely on the leaves and the branches fade into the background, gives it a more artistic look.
Background - great job with the blur, and nothing in the background is really distracting which is a great quality.
Fit for Challenge - Free Study, anything goes.
Lighting - very nice... no complaints here
Wowability - this is where you lost a few points with me. though this is a well executed beautiful photo there is no real wow to it. The colors are really dull, and nothing really pops out and says look at me.
Final Comments - an excellent photo that is somewhat boring but pleasant. Nice Job. |

I swear I left my comment on this, but apparently it didn\'t stick, or didn\'t go through or something. Anyway, I love the angle and framing/cropping. I like how you have ONLY the leaves in sharp focus and the rest is a blurr. The background is very nice for the shot, and is not distracting in any way. the subtle color is nice, and I like the title very much, it really goes with this shot. Lighting conditions are very nice as well. I like how we see the shadow of the other leaf through this one. Good luck in the challenge. |

Nice photo, well taken and good framing. I've played with similar shots, but didn't find them to be of high interest (I had hopes, but it just doesn't translate into a photo as well as the concept). 7 Swash |

Now THAT'S what I call shallow depth-of-field. Very nice. |

Nice focus and framing. It is a little to bright for my taste. Nice subject. |

I love the title on this shot :) These leaves are hanging on for dear life :) The composition and shallow depth of field work very well here for me... great shot :) - setzler |

I really like the shallow depth of field here. It reduces the twigs to graceful lines in a pleasant, soft background and throws all the focus on the overlapping leaves. I like the way the light filters through the leaves, showing the vein structure. You show a great eye for detail. The photo really evokes the feeling of changing seasons, winter setting in, etc. (a very northern hemisphere thing that I feel a bit removed from, since it was around 38C here today!). |

Nice composition, and the sun shining through the leaves really helps add detail to them. However, since the DoF means that there is no other focal point, maybe a tighter crop would help. |

DOF may be a little to shallow on this one. In my opinion, if the whole stem as well as the leaves were in focus, and the background was not, you'd have a stronger compostition. Lighting and detail on the leaves is very well done. |

Awesome DOF here. I like how it is centered on the two leaves. Very artistic. |

I love the title and the composition. I wish there was a bit more focus on the branches though. DPz |

You got that title right as well as the photo. If anything would have liked the stem in a little sharper focus, but good as is. |

great DoF and vision to find the shot... might be better from an angle so the shadow of the leaf behind the other is not there... |

This picture reminds me sooo much of O'Henry's short story "The Last Leaf", its incredible. From the subject, the painted-like background, to the title! You should find the story and read it! (unless you have a strong aversion to litterature) :) As a standalone picture, its strongly composed, no distracting elements, and the blurred blue-grey background sets a nice backdrop for the fall leaf. Cool! |

Nice choice of lighting conditions. The back leaf casting a shadow on the front is interesting. Good composition, too, what with the rule of 3rds and all. |

Great title - I really like the focus here and how the lighting hits the leaves. The crop of the picture is also very good - I like that additional branches are included. Very nice = 8 |

I love the light coming through the leaves, the composition is excellent and the DOF works very well. I had you at an eight but I believe I'm bumping you to a 9. :-) |

I love the DOF in this shot. The only things in focus are the leaves and a bit of the twig and it looks great. The background is blurred nicely, not so blurry that we can't tell what it is, but not clear so to take away from the main interest in the picture. Well done. Also the shadow the back leaf makes on the front one adds a lot to this shot. |
