very nice work Ben, just came across it. I like your choice of composition, the emptiness she is looking into. And the softness, and the texture, of course. Love your aperture f/167, beats Ansel Adams and his f/64 buddies :) |

its art.... the crop is great. The image is great too.
If I'm being honest the grain isn't quite working for me, dunno why though I like grain and it is good grain too -- maybe I'm a bit tired ... an image like this needs to be looked at properly and taken time over with a cup of tea or something.
Overall all I really like it.
------ edit ------
what the zork do I mean "overall"? ..... no I just really like it.

Hey, nice work, man!
I think the hand placement is what make this work so well and sets it apart from just another portrait! : ) |

I gave this a 7 as I really quite liked it. But to be honest, if I had known this was achieved by pin-hole I would have scored it higher. I donĂ¢€™t just vote on the how the image makes me feel (although that is my main driver of a vote) but I also vote on meeting the challenge and the effort/skill/luck in getting the shot. You have inspired me to investigate this type of photography and hopefully, in a decade or two, I might be able to produce something as special as this. Truly wonderful and inspiring. |

6.2 with a pinhole image. Quite a feat in and of itself. Congrats, Ben. |

Wow, I only just looked at your ISO setting. That's amazing, I would never have thought of doing that. Mind you, I don't think my camera goes anywhere near that high! |

Ben, I didn't even look at this challenge, never mind vote, but I saw this today and was blown away by it. It did incredibly well considering it's a pinhole! Just love it. |

A moment to remember. The profile looking left, as if turning the back to the world, gives the feeling of a deep secret held tightly. 9

I definitely love this shot. There's so much emotion in it...her downcast eyes. I love the way her hand is positioned under her chin. The texture is fabulous and evokes a gothic feeling. |

Interesting texture... I wish you'd gone BW at the end... so there was no color... LOL!!
A very thought-provoking image, which I'm sure is your goal.
I may or may not be voting, so please do not equate my comment with any score. |

Definitely a vintage looking shot, especially the facial expression. To me, that expression shows more vintage than the color, focus, and noise. |

I can't really put into words why this photo affects me so deeply, maybe because I have 4 sons and 3 grandsons - but more than that .. it's as if he is much deeper in thought than we imagine a child his age would be .. and the thought is what the story is all about. Thank you for this photo, it really touches my heart.
I voted earlier - a 9
my apologies for not seeing this beautiful child as female .. my eyes were taken so much to the interesting position of the hand and the shadow of the eyes, I did not notice the delicate features or hair.

Lovelly, indeed!!! Not sure if showing more of her head (tried to avoid a pony tail?) and back would help in any way. I like how her hand is positioned as she seems to be in deep thoughts... Very well done! |
