Pretty, in a weird kind of way :). I like your shallow DOF effect. Interestingly, this photo didn't strike me straight away, but the more I look at it, the more I like it! The textures are amazing, and the lighting is soft and even. Very nice work. |

What excelent DOF. I ususally like the dof to be a bit larger than this, but I think it's excelent. You bring out the texture in all the right places, and the color and lighting is very nice. background is not distracting at all. Angle and framing/cropping are great. You really create some depth here. good luck in the challenge. |

challenge met. the first thing i notice is kind of puzzling, while only a small part of the branch with lichen is in focus (narrow DOF, which, btw, i like here), the leaf on the right, which seems to be much closer to the camera also seems in focus. hm. illusion? wasn't that another challenge? ;) anyway. as i already said, i like the shallow DOF. the colors of the lichen are wonderful, and, while i'm usually a fan of simple plain backgrounds, the different colors of your background work very well. they complement the color of the lichen, branch and leaves, but aren't so recognizable that they distract. i'm sitting here in front of my computer twisting my head from left to right wondering what the shot would look like if the branch didn't run from left to right through it but at an angle ... did you try that out? might not be better, i'm just curious. overall, good shot. |

Not sure about the choice of DOF on this one... I probably would have gone for a deeper one. An interesting subject, though :) |

DOF seems a bit shallow at this angle. Good color! DPz |

Very interesting. I would have lliked more DOF so that I could see more detail on the branch. The colors are amazing and your exposure couldn't be better. |

I like this scene, but less than crazy about the angle/DOF. I know a flatter angle to the branch would be more boring, but does increase the amount of subject in focus. It's not upsetting enough to really drop your score for me. 8 Swash
(Oh I really like the leaf in the upper right corner!) |

Not quite true, my roof and stone walls are covered with these creatures. its the quality of the air that is the key factor for their survival. Nice capture, could have been taken closer to the center of interest though. |

I like the DOF in this shot, but the subject itself is a little uninteresting to me. the shot is very clean, the lighting is nice, and it looks good though. Well done. |
