WOW .. that's one awesome pic .. and i'm assuming the red in his body is your blood .. (i just asked google the difference between male and female mosquitos and it told me that the males have feathery antenna and the females have plain antennas .. i like to stock up on my insect knowledge .. )
i've always thought that what makes an excellent photographer is someone who can step out of their comfort zone and do things that others may not ..
spose that makes you an excellent photographer .. !! .. :) |

Great shot Fritz. I've recently purchased some gear and I'm going to give this a shot. I wonder if my mosquito will be of the same variety? |

One of my favorites from this challenge. Look at that full tank. wow. Don't be so surprised you deserve the score. I thought it would score a bit better ;) Great shot and behind the scenes info makes this even better. |

very cool, especially the timing of getting her with a full belly of your own blood. |

Congrats! What a crazy photo to get. Probably the closest shot you'll ever have of your own blood. :) I'm simply amazed at how sharp this is on the back of your hand, which is hard enough to keep still without a bug sucking the life out of you. Was the camera on a tripod? |

I was thinking of doing this shot as well (I'm sure yours turned out better than mine would have been). I put this in my top 3. |

My skin has been crawling this entire competion so far because of this kinda stuff! Love the detail. You're willing to go much further than I to get these kinda shots obviously... My reaction to these only ends in one way and it has nothing to do with a camera. |
