 I have a hard time not entering food challenges. Though my entry was no where near as nice as Oliver's. Lucked out in beating him.

As for the recipe - the general idea is fresh tomato, steamed fresh baby candy beets, sliced garlic, lime zest all tossed with lime and olive oil. That said, I set up this shot purely for the image. I didn't make the food to be eaten, though if I had it would look similar to this. Purely for show. Thanks for the comments and ribbon.

Pretty picture... but when I taste this dish in my head, it doesn't work together. Even so, can't imagine going to the trouble of preparing food and not eating it... well, unless you shellacked it ;-) Congrats on the ribbon.

Congrats on the ribbon, who ever gave this a low score was just trying to mess up the score of a great shot, by the way I didn't eat mine either, my husband did though... I don't like chocolate, hehe.

I think you got a great reception on this because the focus shows cunning, the colors are great and the angles are untraditional. Great silverware placement also. Congrats!

Sharp in all the right places. Soft in all the right places. Nice tilt. Great light. Just the right amount of additional props. Yummy looking dish. I can't find anything wrong with this at all.

I think a deeper dof, which would have kept everything in focus, would have served this shot better. It's a great concept and setup.

Absolutely love the colors and shapes in this lovely presented dish! Tangy lime, hearty red beets, and warm yellow tomatoes paired up with some thinly sliced crunchy bread. Love the square bowl on the round dish for it adds visual appeal to this delicious looking salad. Very well done - hope to see this in the top 5.

So far, I think the best presentation so far. Looks like something in a magazine spread. I can see a food stylist tweaking it to make it look like this. I'd eat that. :) 8
