With the help of the whole team ( Freedomwall Photography) we were able to conceptualize on the theme, and here's one of the best shots taken. This was shot with one strobe, and 2 continuous light source to complete the photo. The hair and make up is superb, plus the model (Fath) who is very versatile.

I would like to especially acknowledge the whole team(Freedomwall) for another successful shoot.
Thank you Paolo for the lovely make-up, it works all the time, tnx for sharing your talent.
Thanks also to Fath, for being such a Film Noir model, very effective modeling as always.
To Gerald tnx for being our lightman for the day.Tnx for the strobes bro.

The set up was not my style (strobing) but it worked real fine (i think I should consider strobing on my other shoots, hmmmmm). I have one strobe set up behind a DIY window blind(made by Paolo), and 2 continuous light as backlight behind Fath, one to have some light on the background and one directly pointed to Fath.

And thank you guys for all the inspiring comments, and for appreciating the photo, the model, the make up the styling and for believing that the photo will have a ribbon.

Tnx DPCHALLENGE for having such photo contest, without the guys behind the contest this wont be possible. so Rock On guys!!!!

Keep shooting..

Certainly a fantastic shot and well deserving of a ribbon!
Just wish your average vote given out was a bit higher...

Congratulations - I knew this would make the front page - fantastic model and props. Just had to mention that this comment, as I have commented before in the voting phase, brought me to the nice round # of 3 thousand comments and I couldn't have picked a better shot to reach this milestone on.

edited to add a bunch of boring info lol

Excellent! This looks like it could have been taken straight from a film noir. Nicely done. This ended up being my top pick for this challenge.

Good period piece, although the phone is a bit antique. The costume and model are excellent, and there is a definite feel of apprehension. Very nice lighting too. 10

This is a great shot. Nice slight tilt and wonderful lighting, outfit and props. The only thing I don't like about this is that the protagonist seems to meet with a bad end. How horrible! Haha, very nice, one of the best.

A thighter, off-center crop and more of an old movie aspect ratio and this could have been a winner. Great staging, light and acting but too many distractions below her elbows. Still a 6 but could have been so so so much better.

This is perfect! I like how the shadows project across her face, exactly what the genre calls for.( I personally would have gone for wider shadows , buthtats just me) My pick for Blue. Good Luck

There you go. Straight out of a movie from the 40's. Love the lines of the blinds going across her face. Her outfit is perfect.

This is the winner of the challenge in my book regardless of who wins the blue. Love the shadow across her face. Her cloths, the phone, her hairstyle all fit that era of filmmaking so well. Beautiful model too. 10!

The best of the window-shade-light-lines-in-face photos, this one is very good I feel like there is a story playing out here. Great work... 10!

Fantastic. The mood is spot on, it looks just like a shot from a film noir movie. The only advice I have is perhaps to crop a bit off from the top.
