I had a hard time with this challenge. My favorite sherpet photos were the tic-tac-toe and box style photos, but I couldn't come up with any ideas. Shez's were so wonderful, nothing I thought of came anywhere close.

So I decided to play around with a flower.

The background on this shot is a piece of fabric with flowers in a grid pattern. The gerbera was lit from behind, and a reflector in front -- along with some photoshop magic. :)

I was surprised that there were that many comments against the border. I'm not a colored border fan, personally, but I really wanted to try to do a sherpet style picture. The interesting thing was, once I started playing with the borders, I understood why Shez did them. Once I put it on, it seemed incomplete without it! I'm sure Shez would have done a better job picking the color, though. :)

Oh yes, and it was a good learning experience, as well! I had never used a gel to color the background before. But I used my flash and a yellow gel to create the background on the yellow outtake, and a strawberry gel for the background of the calla lily. What fun!!

THIS is a personal favorite as it touched all my senses... I wished it had come a little higher up the ladder but so pleased it in the TOP TEN..... Love it, every part of it, especially the BORDER as it is exactly what I would have chosen..... love from shez

I can see this is a SHERPET STYLE and done extreamly well.....
I cannot fault this and love everything about it The beautiful spring/summer colored GERBERA against the SPRING COLORED DOF backdrop and the wonderful ORANGE BORDER in the SQUARE CROP FORMAT...JUST BEAUTIFUL and I love to have my NAME of this one for sure.....THANK YOU so much.....

Now that is nice. I'd actually prefer it without the border though, or with a thinner one - the orange doesn't seem to be quite the right colour so it detracts from the colours in the shot.

Textbook. I'm not sure there's a more appropriate image in this challenge. From the colors to the square crop to the frame, this is exactly how she presents what she likes. Well done.
