Snaffles and I, went to this park last fall. Unfortunately missing the main bird migration. That is what the park is know for. So I figured, I'd take the trip to check it out. It seems I was a little early. But it still provided, lots of great shooting. Plus I got to go camping, without a tent! Yes, always remember the tent and sleeping bag. As an Altima's sleeping comfort, is relatively low. So with no sleep, I hit the flats. There were roughly 100 of these guys. I forget the name. Some would venture, with in minimum focusing distance. So very fun! I shot with the 500 and 1.4x teleconverter. Creating a 700mm 5.6. Camera was on a tripod and gimbal head. Set up as low to the ground as possible. So all in all, the trip was worth the sleepless night. I can't wait to go again. This time, with a tent and Snaffles!

Fabulous result for a technical wildlife shot and not a construed over saturated, attract the bird to your garden with a feeder, shot...Great result for FS.

Beautiful for it's simplicity, and perfect in Black and white

Magnificent. From DoF, reflection, IQ, catchlight etc. etc. I just think it's too central. Cropping bird down 1/3 and leaving sky 2/3.

It would have made sense to turn it sideways to get a beautiful Rorschach test.

Wonderful capture, and I love the way the bird and reflection are isolated.
