That is absolutely beautiful!
The Voortrekker Monument is one of my most strongly remembered iconographic symbols of South Africa.
Ek hoe van Suid Afrika! Ek wil terug kom om die pragtige laand weer te seen.

| Rian ... this is a spectacular photo and truly deserves its position in the challenge. If I wanted to shoot storms, I can't think of anyone I'd rather be storm-chasing with, than you. Maybe I should travel to SA to do it!?! Thanks for showing us mother nature with her 'game face' on! |

It's not the lightning that gave it away this time, it's the monument and the combination. A shot from a very talented man. |

I'm trying to be as annoying as possible and guess who this is: RianBotes is the only DPCer I know that regularly churns out stunning lightning shots such as this. Of course if this is not Rian, please take it as a compliment.
The sky is just magnificent, and the entire image is as crisp as can be. Awesome photo. |

| What a capture. HDR works in some areas (clouds, sky), but not so well in others (foreground). Nonetheless, really liked this image and voted it in my top 5. |
