Thanks everyone for the votes and all the wonderful comments. I really appreciate them!

This past summer I spent about month traveling around Northern Europe, which included a 2 week cruise. Geiranger was one of the stops and I thought it was just incredibly beautiful. It's just a tiny fishing village with a population of about 700. Our bus tour stopped at this lookout for a few minutes and after taking these shots, I wandered down to the lower lookout. I sort of forgot about the time and the guide came running down screaming, "BUS 8, WE NEED TO LEAVE NOW!"

On our way down the hill, she made it a point to announce to everyone that 2 other buses have now passed us because "a few riders aren't keeping track of the time." Oops, :)

It's hard to see but there are a few people standing on the sheer cliff on the right side of the image. The quide said 7-10 people would fall off the cliff every year so they now have a little rope barrier on the edge. I walked over to the edge and looked down...woah.

Thanks again and I'll post up a couple of outtakes from the area later.

Oh God, I missed your photo during viewing/voting :)

I had quite a similar image of Geiranger taken one month earlier but I prefered the Trollstigen. Funny how we live sooo far and we have in this challenge images taken at no more than 2-300 kms :)

What a rugged, beautiful place, excellently captured. love the outflow of the fjord splashing down the mountainside to the valley below.
