I figured I had to enter....
I try to practice every day, whether it be simple scales and arpeggios, or music I am learning, or exercises (etudes), or improv.
About the stupid title:One of the things that bass trombonists are often called to do is to play what are known as pedal tones - fundemental notes that are below the typical harmonic range of the instrument. These extremely low notes take a lot of flexibility and air control to hit and control. A standard technique I practice every day is what I term the petal tone progression, where I start with the b-flat above the bass clef staff (First position), the b-flat in the staff, and the b-flat pedal tone below the staff, and repeat the arpeggio over and over, starting slow and accelerating the rate over time. I then move down a half step and continue. This is continued all the way out until i have reached the end of the fundamental series (E).
Shot in RAW in basement 'studio' using umbrella on the right of the camera with black sheet as backdrop.
preset with minor adjustments
-Add layer and cloned out imperfections in my silky skin and dodged the horn to bring out details
-crop, resize, Topaz InFocus, save for web. |

One of my top picks for the challenge. Plus, I've always said that holding down the bottom end makes you better looking. |

Very geeky title, but well chosen :)
And nice pose and image. If anything, I would be curios to see this with a slight duotone, but that's just me. |

I've always admired anyone who could play a brass instrument. Love his dimple. ;) |
