Progression by zeuszenComment: I love the graduation in this one, and the simplicity. How about cropping off part of the bottom of the shot to move the subject off-center? |

Blue Skies over Red Bricksby coolharComment: For me, there are too many competing elements here, and I find it difficult to view. You've captured good color but I think that a closer view would have worked better. |

The Bayou Cityby jab119Comment: The darker areas are a little too dark, so much so that they don't hold much interest. You chose the right time of day to shoot this one, and maybe a closer view of those wonderfully lit buildings would work better. |

Capitol At Sunsetby rickhd13Comment: Nice sillhouette, and great colors. The edges of the building are a little soft, but it doesn't really hurt the shot. |

ESB-A different point of view.by catpixelComment: A nice composition, though I'm not quite sure that the upper corner works because there's no detail in it at all. I'd like to see more detail in the foreground as well, but this was a difficult exposure to get right (a ND grad tilted on the diagonal probably would have helped here). |

Another ship? No, a buildingby johnmkComment: Difficult exposure situation unfortunately, so there's no detail in the sky or main subject. The composition is good, but a shot later in the day would probably have given you what you were looking for here. |

Boulder Bayby justesmeComment: A nice idea and good composition, but you could make a couple of improvements to make this a great shot. First of all, use a smaller aperture to get a much better depth of field. A shot like this really really needs a good depth of field, and f/11 just isn't going to give that to you.
Secondly, it looks like you've used a fill-in flash. This has not done the subject any favors at all, and the foreground colors have been washed out as a result.
If you have a problem of light intensity variation between the land a sky, it's usually best to use a graduated neutral density filter to darken one half and bring the shot into balance. |
