To be oar not to be...by GaladrielComment: I like the abstract nature of this photo. Levels, focus, and contrast are nearly perfect. Black and white works well. Portrait orientation works well. Very little to criticize. The highlights on the rightmost oar are lost on the others. I bit stronger highlights would have improved it in my opinion. I suspect it may score a bit below what it deserves because it's not very dynamic. Good luck. (8) |

Team USA Trialsby Prof_FateComment: Nice photo. I like the aspect ratio which works nicely with the subject matter. Very dynamic. Good levels. Contrast could be a bit sharper if you wanted the photo to pop a bit more. I bumped this down, however, from 4-5 because the players are in the photo and therefore doesn't meet challenge. (1) |

Dartsby cooliakComment: Nice Macro. Very good focus. Good levels. Focus seems just a bit off but it may be depth of field limits. Somehow, I don't think of darts as a team sport, however, so I bumped the score down from a 5-6. (2) |

Mid Airby marlinComment: A nicely composed photo. Good levels and contrast. Color of the lawn is a bit washed out. Focus is a bit off but capturing the motion was worth it. I would have rated this a 4 or 5 except Bacci is a game where individuals compete and therefore not a team sport: doesn't meet the challengs. (1) |

1952 U.S. Olympic Boxing Team by fluxnComment: In my view, the only 10 in the submissions for this challengs. This is beautifully evocative. The worn gloves seem symbolic of the way boxing wears out the boxer. The old gloves seem nostalgicly out of step with the slick, monied sport boxing has become. The black and white works very well and seems to symbolize the black and white of olymics competition. Well titled. The the levels are perfect. The composition is perfect. The focus is nearly perfect. If you don't ribbon, no one deserves to! Good luck. |

Riding the Fenceby karmatComment: I didn't expect to like this based on the thumbnail, but I keep being drawn back to it. Nice DOF. Great color and contrast. Elegantly simple photo. Hope it does well. (8) |

3 Unfortunate Trees in the Path of a Stormby postoakinversionComment: Great sky! Possibly best of show. Congratulations! I am curious how much post processing was done. I have seen sky just this way but rarely am successful catching it just this way through the lens. Hope you do a tutoril. I'd like to learn. (9) |

Three Men Carved in a Mountainby candycornComment: I like the picture. Overall steel grey works well. Contrast and levels are great. Comp is good. I am wondering though if this violates the rules about taking a photo of another work of art. Voted as though it was ok. (7) |
