Stone Arch Bridgeby GatorguyComment: Excellent choice of subject and point of view. I love the colors of the bricks. The ice seems to have helped light the under side of the bridge. A 10.

Air and Spaceby MrYuComment: Nice lighting and colors. The distortion created by the low camera angle is not too appealing to me. A 5. |

Once Yellowby PDavisComment: Very nice abstract. A little dim, I was able to brighten +25 in PS and still not lose deep blacks on my monitor. I would have croppedso as not to leave exposed metal in upper left corner. An 8. |

Pyramid Powerby BrennanOBComment: Excellent positioning. Nice texture on thewater. A tad less exposure might have given some more color gradation around tower. Actually, I like this picture more when I desaturate the yellow to -40. The effect is still there but there is more color gradation. An 8. |

Follow the Yellow Brick Roadby scalvertComment: This is excellent. The shoes, socks, Toto, road, and "grass." Reflecting light from the back of the models might have helped with the shadows on the road. A 10. |

Bulbby birdyblueComment: Nice control of exposure. The bulb though appears flat. Maybe adding some writing on the surface of the bulb would help with depth. A 9. |

Lemon!by KeysComment: Very nice. This is the best rendition of a lemon slice I have come across so far in this contest. I liked the back lit ones the most so far, but you chose a good healthy specimen, sliced it cleanly, lit it well, placed it on a nicely contrasting background and it looks good enough to eat. The red could be desaturated a little to get rid of blackened corners and Focus Magic at 100% at 1 pixel can sharpen the out of focus blur on the rind. A 10. |

"Last Dandelion"by dphillipsComment: Hi, this looked a little flat to me, so I copied it into photoshop and used Focus Magic to reduce the out of focus blur by 50% at 2 pixels. You can try this for free by downloading Focus Magic. Not only was the image nicely sharpened, but it also developed some depth.
Nice idea for yellow, especially this late in the fall. An 8. |
