this photograph was somehow different from all the other clothing/shoe/cliche things photos. it looked real....but had a well composed feel to it. it sure looks like something id throw out on my bed, not a set up shot. the colors contrast well with each other, and the shadows and wrinkles are good. this picture could even be read into more than just what shirt to wear, but also...look at that nice comfy bed, why put on one of these shirts when i can climb back in bed.

i love the desert. i love black and white. and long windy dirt roads. and dogs and interesting people. hey, even solitary roadsigns are great. you can just see the heat in this picture. looks like great photography country! a great photograph that is well thought out and composed. 10

What to write...

nice tones, i think the sepia works well for this image. the boy seems very focused on what he is writing....looks like in the back of a yearbook....what to write, it certainly fits the contest. i like that it doesnt look posed at all, as it probably wasn't. good job

i saw the title and groaned. not Another picture of two paths.... but then it loaded and i laughed, what a nice play on words, the image is a little fuzzy, but hey...it made me laugh. and a picture that makes you feel emotion of any sort is the best kind.

this image was a pleasant suprise. it's nice to have something humorous after looking at page after page of shoes, coke cans, and junk food. good angle, and amazing sky. the shadow behind the letters really accentuates them. 10.

Alone

this image really makes one think. it goes beyond the cliche 'which pair of shoes' type of photograph and really makes you look at all the details... the pregnant girl, posed perfectly off-center, the locked door and notice on the door that show how dangerous it can be to provide a controversial service...black and white certainly fits for this image, as the decision faced by the girl really is black and white, either choosing life, or death for her unborn child. a powerful image, a perfect 10 in my eyes.

A Hard Choice: Letting Go

this picture is one of those that just speaks to me... it goes beyond the snapshot composition that you see alot of here... it really converys something that everyone can relate to, either being the child taking the first steps, or as the parent watching the child walk away. the expression is terrific, and the mother is well placed. it's nice that the mother is slightly out of focus, to convey how the child is slowly becoming independent and moving farther away. an excellent picture!
