Above & Beyondby jjbeguinComment: One of my favorites! This shot is wonderful, and also very spooky at the same time (maybe I am just still in Halloween mode). The cloudscape us beautiful, and the bird really balances the silohuettes below. Nicely done. 10 from me!

Back to the drawing board: Divide by zero = infiniteby NatatorComment: Reminds me of Konador image! When I divide by zero, I get 'error'. You must have a better calculator than me! If you are hanging out for infinity, you are going to need a full cup of coffee, not half!! Good job, this is one of the more creative entries this week!

One Tiny Weed on the Infinite Stepsby magnetic9999Comment: This could be anywhere, but it reminds me of the step going down to the river behind the Lincoln Memorial. The gold light from the setting sun is coming from the right direction too! Nice shot, the curved repetitive lines are very interesting!

Love by KonadorComment: Great shot, Ben, and congrats on the ribbon! I almost asked if this was your image during voting (because of the text book). Well done!

Fairy Lightsby SamaraComment: Hi Mom! i think you did a great job on this shot. the composition is perfect, and the lighting effect is very well done. I have noticed in a couple of photos of yours in dark conditions that you get a yellow cast... I don't know if you camera has a white balance adjustment, but you may want to check into that. I think your teddy bear photo has some yellow cast to it as well.
All in all, you did a great job, but the image has some camera limitations affecting it (white balance and grain or noise in dark images). I like pcody's idea to shoot this with the light reflection making a halo at her head! Well done!
Love,
Andy
(edit) I just noticed that your ISO was 320 for this shot. Try to set it lower if your camera will let you and it will minimize the noise/grain. It will also require a longer shutter speed, but you were already at 1/2 second, so I assume you used a tripod or other stable surface for the camera. Message edited by author 2003-10-29 10:14:55. |

Fairy Godmother Cakeby SamaraComment: Congrats Mom on your highest score yet! You nearly broke into the six range!! That is awesome! I read all of the comments on this image. there are some good ones to learn from. Several people mentioned a tilt, but I bet it is not a level problem. If you take a photo at an angle other than straight on, it will make the line between the flat surface and the background (in this case the table and the wall) appear to be angled. If you shot this straight on, perpendicular to the wall, you would not have that issue. Great job on this shot!
