Minerby iraeComment: This is the only photo that made me laugh out loud. I give it a 9 for that, although the DOF, lighting, focus, and detail are all excellent. I just wonder who is your customer???

From a distance anyway.by jjbeguinComment: I love cloud shots (in fact, my entry is a cloud shot this challenge). I really like the composition here, and the moon in the center is a huge bonus, and actually 'makes' the shot! I see some red/purple/green/bluish artifacts in the midtones and in the blues of the sky. This is a tough situation to get rid of, especially with the 'no spot-editing' rule. The best I have been able to do is desaturate the reds, greens, and magentas, and to lower the saturation on the yellows (not all the way). I then run the despeckle filter, then an unsharp mask. I believe this is all legal, and it's the best combination I've come up with to clean up cloudscapes. Nice shot and good luck! smellyfish1002 |

Grazeby FrooberComment: This is one of my favorites this week. I was wondering why the thumbnail image looked blurry, now I know. Very interesting image, I am assuming you rotated the original 180 degrees. I'm trying to find the start of the cows feet opposite the reflection, but I can't find them! Nice color in the water. Well done. |

Blow Itby KonadorComment: Nice use of DOF.I would have liked to see a little more light on the mouthpiece. Nice angle.. kind of an uncommon approach. I like that. JD |

BB'sby AnachroniteComment: Your focus and clarity is excellent in this shot, and I like the bluish tone instead of a brassy or copper tone. It is a nice macro, but is missing something in developing interest. Maybe something mixed in with the bb's... Maybe a red ball orsomething that would stand out and break up the pattern a little. Leading the Choirby crabappl3Comment: The expressionon her face really draws my attention. It's not the expression I would expect for a kids chior leader. It adds a lot of interest to the photo. The action seems to be in front of her, so I would have cropped this with more space in front of her and less behind. Good job of capturing her in action. You did a good job of not having the highlights get too hot on her white clothing, which is tough to do. Smellyfish1002 |

Minor Sunrise in a Major Keyby inspzilComment: This is a nice shot and reminds me of many winter sunsets from when I was growing up in Indiana (I left there when I was 18). I would have cropped more of the foreground out of this photo, or adjusted levels to send the foreground and the silohette of the tree to black. You have some jpg artifacts in the grayish area of the sky, but thats near impossible to get rid of. This tree would be interesting shot with the setting sun directly behind the tree as well. Lots of neat things going on here! Good Luck, JD |

Marina in Decemberby MorganComment: You have some interesting colors, shapes, repeating patterns, etc. This is a concept that works well, but it would be interesting to see it shot from a side angle as well. Although it would be against the rules for this site, I would like this shot better without the treetops on the horizon, and no branches on the left and right. Maybe cropping it down to the horizon would be an option. It would get rid of some distractions and zero in on the interesting components in the photo. I really like the way the red stands out from the bluish gray tones of the rest of the image! I know it would be though to do, but increased DOF to keep the handrails in focus would help, IMO. Nice shot, good effort braving the cold! JD |
