Critique club (sorry for the delay!)
I see a sunrise/set with a warm sky and a tree. The sun has an interesting shape with a flattened look on the top. I'm a little disappointed with the tree because it's this big black blob that lacks a certain shape for it to be helpful in the image. There are nice whispy clouds around the sun that add some drama to the image. I dont like the green at the top of the image... This tells me it should have been more blue and you've either done too much post processing, or you didn't adjust the white balance.
I would suggest to crop out some of the black at the bottom of the frame. There's too much of it (about 1/3 of the image is just blackness) and the image would be more powerful with less of it. Overall it's a fair image of a sunset.. nothing boring, nothing spectacular. |

We all like a sunrise and yours is a good one. I don\'t think it is outstanding though, and this is a question we must ask ourselves when taking their picture. The sun is blown out, and iI realize you had to expose long enough to get the wonderful tree. Maybe some sort of filter might have helped. Good luck in the future. |

Lovely image. It seems a little washed out in the sky area, but that makes the sun pop out. |

This is a beautiful, serene photo, but I think it could have done with a bit of post-processing work on the colours and levels. The area of sky at the top is a dirty brown colour (at least on my monitor), which could have been altered slightly to bring out the reds and oranges in the sunrise better. I like the silhouette of the trees and the very subtle details I can see of the landscape. The wispy clouds around the sun are gorgeous. Overall, nice work.
Updated to say: This is what I got when I tried out the suggestions I made: //lisa3d.org/images/photos/dpc/sunrise2.jpg |

pretty..looks like the sun is melting onto the ground, just a tad too dark, would like to see more of the water. |

Nice dramatic photo. Too bad about the road, wasn't there a different angle to take this shot? 8 Swash |

I think this shot would be improved by either darkening or lightening the foreground. Right now, it's dark, like it's suposed to be a silhouette, bt there is still somewhat of detail in it. The black looks cloudy. I think it would be better if totally blacked out. Otherwise, the color is very pretty. Focus seems good to me. Good luck in the challenge. |

Nothing I can say to improve this shot. I love the interplay between the dark foreground and tree and the oranges in the sky. Very nicely done! |

wonderful sunrise. I love how the tree LOOKS soft, but is, in reality, very sharp. |

Nice orange tones in the sky. Sharpness of the tree is a little soft as well as some minor noise in the sky. Composition is good, the sun is, pardon the pun, a little hot. |

Very nice colours in this shot, which contrast well against the dark silhouettes of the trees. However, there appears to be a redish glow to the bottom edge of the photo, perhaps residual from a lens flare, which could be removed by recropping. |

beautiful colors. The sun looks huge! The bottom part of the picture is pretty dark and doesn't add much. I think moving the angle up so a bit more of the sky was included while still getting the outline of the trees in the sunlight would have been more appealing. = 7 |

This is a nice shot and reminds me of many winter sunsets from when I was growing up in Indiana (I left there when I was 18). I would have cropped more of the foreground out of this photo, or adjusted levels to send the foreground and the silohette of the tree to black. You have some jpg artifacts in the grayish area of the sky, but thats near impossible to get rid of. This tree would be interesting shot with the setting sun directly behind the tree as well. Lots of neat things going on here! Good Luck, JD |

beautiful color in the sky... a smaller apature or faster shutter speed might make the sun a bit dimmer so we see more color and detail in the sky and less detail of the foreground... maybe.. I would have to try it. :o) |

Lovely shot. The soft focus is nice, although I think I would have preferred to see the branches of the tree in sharper relief against the sky. I do like the moody feel of the shot, and overall think it is quite nice. 8. lhall |

What a great image, the detail is amazing, the reds of the sunset are astounding. Persoanally, I am not a big fan of sunsets, however this one is very beautiful. Good job! |

Wow! thats a really neat sunrise. Good job. The only thing I would change is maybe cropping out some of the top and just make it a thinner picture. |
