Oral Sex on the Beachby chesireComment: I didn't vote in this challenge but for me, the model has no connection with the drink and dominates the image instead of the drink. With that in mind, her eyes and face lead me to the right side of the image, away from the drink. I'm also not sold on the lighting, as it highlights neither the model or the drink. I would have scored this a 5 with a possible bump to a 6 depending on the strength of the other entries. Your score seems to reflect this range.

way to coldby NorthStarComment: Back to comment: To me the image says that it is too late in the evening to be swimming more than it says it is too cold to be swimming. You found some interesting lilght and it produced wonderful colors. Still a very nice photo. |

Left Out In The Cold.by nibblesComment: Back to comment: I realize that it doesn't have to be cold out to be left out in the cold. However, without the title this image does not convey the concept very strongly. |

Into the Moonlit Woodsby GeneralEComment: BAck to comment: An interesting image that reminds me of a hair brush. It really doesn't convey the concept of cold very strongly. Good luck.

Strong but peaceful by Ragga2000Comment: Back to comment: Exceptional lighting and post processing. An image I would be proud to call my own. However, it really doesn't convey the concept of cold very strongly. Hopefully, this won't hurt your score very much. Good luck.

Stone Coldby bloodrainComment: Back to comment: Without the title, this image does not convey cold to me very strongly. Besides that, the focus needs to be much sharper on the eyes. It is hard to connect with the person when the eyes are not sharply focused. I downloaded your image to add some sharpening and it appears as if the chin is where the sharpest focus occurs.
On a side note, it doesn't appear as if you sharpened your image after downsizing for the challenge. Downsized images almost always need to be sharpened as the last step in post processing. If you need help with this, please send me a PM and I'll try to give you a hand.

The Moon and the Monumentby levyj413Comment: Back to comment: A wonderful image but it really doesn't convey the concept of cold to me. It doesn't help that I know it is hot and humid in DC this time of year. Good luck. |

Ice Coldby animal_loverComment: Back to comment: There are several cold drinks in this challenge and by adding a stir stick to yours you provided a strong focal point for the image. However, there is a lot of haloing around the top part of the stick from the post processing and there are weird reflections in the glass. The image also suffers from the lighting a bit but I have no suggestions for how to improve it. I would suggest you look at some of the images in the Recipe (Beverage) challenge and PM some of the higher scoring ones and ask how they set up their lights. I've done this a few times and almost everyone was more than happy to share their knowledge.
