Boatersby AleciaComment: This is a very stunning B&W nicely done. I love it, and this one is simply cropped so perrectly, the clouds are there but not over dominating the image, the waves are present, and overall it just is so appealling, iBest of luck cause it is my favorite of the week. 10 |

Bouncer at the Highlanderby ursulaComment: Critique Club
Very interesting image for the at work challenge they both seem very relaxed and quite at home in this setting. The focus and dof are both good, the colors are very eye catching and well bounched out.
There is one tiny problem with lines as you look at the photo your eyes are drawn off the couple and to a person sitting in the background, simply cause of two leading lines running directly into this person, the black post in the foreground and the red wall accent coming down in the middle of the photo both end up on the same person and take attention from the couple in the photo.
The photo is very well done and does meet the challenge, definately a lot to look at in this photo and yet not overly cluttered.

Black Delightby kosmikkreeperComment: Critique Club
This is definately one abstract, still trying to decide if it is black licorice or one of those recycled tire welcome mats. But I will go with licorice.
Your dof and focus seem very good here and there is a really wonderful texture, its the glare or points of highlight here that I don't like, they are just slightly too strong and make it appear to be more of just a macro of black licorice than a low key photo.
This was definately one of the orginal photos in this challenge and definately nicely done.

Overall this is a really nice still life photo, the composition is good and the use of black and white works well. Now in all honesty though it is far to bright for a low key photo. Darkening the entire image would have made it work well, cause you already have some shadowing its just to bright for this challenge.
Your focus is very good and strong and makes the photo work, it just didn't work with this challenge.

If that one card I can't make out is a Q you got a great hand there. If you are playing poker I'm glad I'm not at the table =o) The dof used here works nicely, the focus is very good but what I don't like is there is just a little bit to much light for this challenge and not enough shadowing. Nice composition and yeah even with to much light it still is obvious it was done in low light so it does meet the challenge.

Veiled Tragedyby ursulaComment: *Critique Club*
Very haunting image has a very spooky feeling about it. The focus is very good and the lighting very appropriate for this image. Nice how the veil disappears into the darkness.
One thing I really find distrubing in the entire image is that little ornament on the hat near the top on the rightside. It is almost as if it there a leading line and when your eye follows it there is nothing to look at. Other than that it really is a very neat image. Well done and definately meets the challenge.

Shattered and Shutteredby autoolComment: *Critique Club*
Very orginal idea. I do agree its fantastic in the fact that you don't have any glare. I do see a distracting element in it that can easily be gotten rid of the rocks add a nice touch and a little charm to it but that purple wild flower screams crop me out all I do is distract from the broken mirror.
Other than that little flower the photo is really good. Definately meets the challenge. Well done.

Guess who got yours. What do I say about yours? The focus is good the lighting works well for this, leaving mild shadows where needed. That one strand of hair adds such a statement to the photo, but at the same time that is where your problem is. As I sit here I notice it looks slightly soft at the end and I can decide if it is fanning out slightly of if the focus is off on it. Whichever it is it does pull the eye to it.
Over all I thing this is a very beautiful self portrait and well done.
