Maybe Next Monthby xianartComment: ΓΆ€ΒΆ
Wow - you did a number on the voter's with this one!
I have to admit, being the father of 5 & having delivered the last one myself (and I do mean the LAST ONE - ha ha) I wasn't that put off by this. But, I didn't score it high, either - in fact I gave it a 2 (sorry!). Part of me did think it was a Brown attempt & I wanted to oblige, but I had deeper reasons, too.
I can appreciate a little shock value (hell, I did a series of "Things Found Dead & Rotting" 10 years ago) but whenever I see an image I think of how it COULD have looked, I see the many roads the artist could have taken. When I saw this one, I immediately thought that the cold sterility of it was absolutely meant to disgust and though I can appreciate that purpose & admire its success, I also thought what if the lighting had been X & the angle had been Y then my reaction would have been Z instead. I know, I know - it's not my place to 'own' your art, but if it's out there I WILL take it & make it my own & make those judgments 'cause it can be hard to that very same thing with my own.
Anyway, I really wanted Z with this one, something that took a moment longer & relished life instead flushing it down the toilet- too much of that going these days to begin with! Perhaps you should have entered in Death instead...
"Course what the f*** do I know - I shot a freaking LED bulb for a challenge about celebrating life.

Push Pinby RockBruiseComment: This really is better than it's score belies - the competition was tough in this challenge and who knows which image came right before yours in voting?
IMO, this was a well executed shot! |

Celestial by LalliSigComment: See, that's what suck about 'Expert Editing' - you're left questioning whether someone has expertly captured a moment or expertly crafted one. This would be easy to score in 'Advanced"...
I was born & raised in the far north of rural Michigan & I've seen nights like this before. If this was photoshop you deserve a 9 & if this was a capture then you deserve an 11 so I'll just give you the average of those two..

Fog Delayby instepsComment: I like this one so much, but I've got to stretch to get it on track with the challenge! Does the lack of sky here make the sky a critical element?!
:: sigh ::
Really nice image, falls shot of the prerequisite (IMHO), but I CAN make a connection & feel like I do get some sense for the sky -- alright I'll give it a 7. |

Sunset Reflectionsby jeroweComment: Very nice :: Silky textures with an interesting foreground silhouette :: Horizon seems a little off, but that's pretty much the only minus as far as the image goes - 'sky' connection is a little weak, but only because it's pulling a supporting role to the other elements & not center stage itself.

Castle in the Skyby CutterComment: Very nice concept & well executed except for the smearing in the clouds beneath our castle here. |
