the Birds by finnurComment: The high contrast is very effective here. Love the business of the shot - though it's a shame the top left bird is slightly out of shot - he/she seems to be the natural focus of the image. |

Creeping Towards the Skyby BassInABandComment: Really nice idea - pity about the size of this image. Is this a macro? It has that incredible depth of field feeling - but I'm not sure it's really helpful here - a touch more definition in the canopy of the trees would be nice. |

Standing Aloneby bruster54Comment: First shot I've seen that really meets the challenge - depth of field perhaps a little too shallow where the top of the shoot gooes out of focus. Great tonality though, good shooting. |

Sunbathing After Spring Showerby autoolComment: Love the 'hide' effect from the foreground foliage. You mkight have pushed the re-sizing a touch too far? And yes, I know how difficult it is to get shots like this! |

Weather Protectionby Geo_GriffinComment: Basically a nice shot - though I wonder how many people will understand about the flood barrier. shame about the cranes - especially when the barrier depends on those clean lines for it's look. And the border's too harsh for me - I'd much rather see one colour only, find this black/white distracting. |

Lazy afternoonby pikytoComment: Good shooting. Think I'd have cropped out the whatever-it-is on top of the rock - pulls my eye against the clouds and the boat. I presume that's the moon - pity about the damn thing being so small, eh? ;-) |

An Icelandic fire skyby sissiComment: Don't really like the positioning of that bush - too central for me - I would have wanted to use it to frame the brightest portion of the sky and to be more strongly silhouetted - which might have allowed a shorter exposure to prevent the burn-out as well. Still a good image. |

Between Stormsby ScottKComment: Fabulous distance in this shot, a real sense of scale. Whilst the very low horizon really helps the sense of hight, I wonder if you haven't perhaps excluded too much of the ground - as I look, I really want to see something more foreground-y. Minor point, though, but foreground elements can really 'place' landscape shots. |
