Like others have commented, the cutting board is one of the most interesting items in this shot ..the fresh ribs placed on top of such a well used board give us, the viewers, a sense of what is to come. I like the whimsical little red pepper in the top leftish corner - part of a rub? Is it hot or sweet - will you roast it? I also like the angles in this shot - nothing is perfectly straight which is as it should be (unless you have a bad case of OCD) it looks less set up and more just a quick glimpse into the making of a grand feast. Totally enjoyed visiting your meal.

OH I love these kind of photos - they challenge my brain to make sense of what I am seeing - It's like taking off your glasses and squinting - what is the fascination of b&w? I love it and hated when they colorized the old films .. IN this shot the round dots start at the bottom - grow less defined and then stronger at the top ..there are people in it but I have no sense of what they are doing - how wonderful that I can create a story as to what this slice of like would look like if it were in focus ..I love these types of photos - thanks for posting.

I can see what Sherpet is talking about - the colors do indeed mimic those of the shavings of a pencil .. I enjoy the cats peaceful sleep .. orange tabby cat are so pretty you did him justice - I say him as they are usually male.

This shot has an old time feel to it so you were successful in meeting that goal - the only thing I might remove is the pair of glasses - and that's not a given. Your photos are a wonderful peek into yesterday and I hope to continue to see more.

The humor is appreciated .. it's so funny and yet at the same time, rather indicative of the attitude of times we live in - 3 stand chatting while totally ignoring the fallen one - I like the shadows the fruit make on the plate.

I always return from FS trips with a crick in my neck from looking up. I think you could shoot architectural oddities for 2 or 3 years and not duplicate one. This one could have easily been missed as it's so high up but it's so perfect for your theme Alice - as others have said - how odd to create such a large landing with nothing on it.
