PaW 2010 Week 2.jpgby TerComment: Well, these are just down the beach from where I used to live. Love the Brighton Beach Boxes, they are something different. Great sky colours through this and the bright colours of the boxes curving through the images works really well. Love how you used the Aussie flag box as well, I always tended to try and include it in my image..........A great natural HDR here.......... |

PaW 2010 Week 1.jpgby TerComment: Hi Terry.......Trying to remember which church this is, cause it looks familiar but I can't remember where it was. I am missing the fine weather so not having clouds I think is good because the deep blue sky means all the emphasis is on the Church and trees. A great image to start PAW2010 with |

Sharply Curvedby bspurgeonComment: The shapes through this image are really interesting, which makes the photos......shallow depth of field like this is not my favourite area, but you have both done this well, and have so much depth with the curved subject still standing out against the background that makes this image still really interesting. Simple border just finishes it off well....... |

Our Little Sisterby vladoComment: Great Series Vlado..........What is scary is how old Tatiana and Michael look these days (hope my spelling is good)...........Even Anton looks much older these days.......hope you are getting enough sleep in the hectic Household, and Soccer Training should be scheduled for next month...........
Individually all of the images are pretty good, and the lighting, while slightly different between them all, works well.
For some reason, I really like the crop you have used with Michael..........I think it works really well, and makes maximum use of the available space........Comparing against it, cropping all the others closer in a similar way (where possible of course, and not all to that level) would further emphasize all of the kids different faces, and also show their personalities.........In this series, you do start seeing the differences between the 5 older kids, because they are all next to each other.
And does Anton smile in photos?????????? Not that it is a bad thing, it just shows his personality
Anyway mate, a growing family and a great series of all of the kids with their new daughter...........
Congrats again Vlado |

City of Sailsby BugzeyeComment: Not a fan of the border, I feel if you were going for this design, then I would have used black and not grey for the outside.............
Apart from that, The composition is good and the B&W processing is very good. |

4c.jpgby karmatComment: Like the composition, makes something different to the plain portraits next to each other for the wall. Background is interesting without being a distraction, so it does its job well. Composition with the boys shoulders and the girls face both facing towards the middle works well, as that helps balance the image. White background for the images do work well (is the boys slightly Grey though??? Looks it here on my monitor....more noticable as the girls is white) Individual portraits appear to show the kids in more natural poses, which is always so much better than the stiff images you can often see photographers do.........A great compilation Karma........Would have been great to hear some context/reasons behind the image though......... |

*wink*by ShutterPugComment: The depth of field in this image is an issue. The frog and branch both needed to be sharp. The bent branch, if sharp, could have provided a really interesting element as well |

Miss Malayaby tjbel05Comment: A nice portrait showing personality. the crop of the hands and whatever she is holding though is awkward.......The crop needed to either include the hands or crop them out completely. Lighting though is very good on this, and the depth of field is great to provide a really good background |

2009-Swan Songby lyn100Comment: I don't think the heavy black border suits the image. Something more subtle would have worked a lot better. The symmetry of the image works really well and your exposure to balance the whites is very good |
