cracking!by idemaerschalkComment by HBunch: A spoon and fork in ice? A little difficult to see. The lighting in the center is harsh, with some blown out areas creating quite a distraction. Looks like you may have tried to tone it down a bit post processing, but instead, it kind of gave it a greyish look. Not sure how to recover from that, other than try different lighting. I wonder, if this were frozen in ice, would a backlighting have made an interesting effect? ~Heather~ |

Not frost free...by idemaerschalkComment by macrothing: 4 - Good potential. Criticism; don't think you have captured the full potential of this opportunity, maybe because it is a camera/lens dependent issue - but a workaround may have produced something that gave this a little extra. Perhaps perspective/angle slightly different, a different crop, composition, tweaking of colors/contrast, not sure. Can't recall ever seeing a shot of an orb web with frost like this on it, which just makes me 'want' to be able to see more detail in the frost particles even more. Perhaps a macro from a 'right under' or 'close to center and straight down' (really sharp angle) may have made this extra special. edit:typos Message edited by author 2005-12-08 17:53:00. |

Not frost free...by idemaerschalkComment by Brent_Ward: This image has great potential. I woul dlike it a lot better if the center of teh web fell in the upper right 3rd of the frame. The tones are fantastic! I give it an 8. |
