Piccadilly Circusby tomlewis1980Comment: This is a fab bustly shot. the bright colours suit the motion blur and the environment very well. i think i might have preferred it slightly less cluttered (i.e., have just the bus as i think the black hatchback is non-essential here) but that minor criticism aside, i think this works wonderfully well. very pretty tourist friendly shot. 8. |

Seducing the Night with a Serenadeby JelloeyeComment: i love the moodiness of this... it would appear from the motion of her right hand that this was taken whilst actually playing - i think just posing would have provided a sharper image here. i like the lighting, the background, cool violin and, erm, nice attire :) this is a pretty rich photograph. 9. |

Escapeby DefyTimeComment: this is one of my absolute favourites of the challenge. i totally adore the brightness and boldness of the colours. the light and shadows are very effective, and the person certainly adds to the grimness of the shot. composition is excellent (very rule of thirds)... i wonder how much of the colour is original? very cool location, any way. 10. |

primary coloursby brunasComment: very pretty skies. the rich oranges are oil-painting like in their appearance. visually this is striking, no doubt, though the land mass is a bit plain, really. i have no idea if dusk can be construed to be night, so i'm going to let that one go. 6. |

Krakow - The night is still youngby _wu_Comment: And respect to you for fighting the temptation to rotate the camera 90 degrees to do a portrait orientated shot. the use of negative space certainly works in terms of composition. the colours are wonderfully rich, the brickwork contrasting well with the purply sky. I think the street lamp is a bit unwanted - kind of mucks about with the scale of the church making it seemingly less impressive. can't decide if i like the border - in terms of presentation it's a bit like one of those paintings with the picture flowing over and into the frame, an effect which i never liked much. it is a nice picture, gorgeous building and lovely sky... 7. |

River of Lightby BDaisComment: the water does certainly add to the fairly uninspiring skyline - i think it was right to focus the viewers attention by way of the title (example of clever titling there). i might have cropped a little tighter top and bottom, losing some sky and the ripply portions of the water (the smooth bits are lovely). the skyline does let you down a bit, though - too undefined, dark and a bit weird around the buildings... a solid place to rest your camera and an even longer exposure time might have worked... 5. |

Neonby divernickComment: it's a total mess and i love it! i must confess, you're very brave for posting this type of shot here, and go you for damning the consequences! the excessive movement makes it clear it was intentional, and i think it works well. the colours are bold and bright, and creates a definite impact. I think it is let down by the (over exposed) white sign in the left third of the frame - it kind of gives away too much about your movement and kind of disrupts the pattern you've got going in the rest of the picture. good shot, though - 8. |

the local high streetby coldaComment: nice use of sepia here. I like the urban feel of the shot, and the near absense of people. i find the glare on the street lights a little over powering - not sure how to avoid that really as i guess a shorter exposure time might make the overall final result very dark. but it's a very likeable shot that screams nice Continental European town to me. 7. |

Dreamy Summer Nightsby andrewlrComment: Absolutely gorgeous! For one, I have never seen the SOH taken from this angle before, and it begs the question, why? It looks superb side on. The pink sky is very lovely, and the lighting on the bridge is perfect. in fact, lighting as a whole is totally without fault. very smooth and lovely poster-friendly image - 10. |
