Withoutby bobdaveantComment: Moody, gritty and tough. All this makes a great photograph. However on the poverty association, I need a little more convincing. |

No Vacancyby TipiflapsComment: Sepia is a good choice here. I would prefer to see the guy moved more to the left or right. (rule of thirds) as this would certainly help with the composition.
I also find the image a little to small to really see what is going on here. |

It's sad when fresh water is a luxury to the hungryby birdyblueComment: The anle chose is good and helps with the copmosition.
I however fing the composytion a little too dark. It give the feeling of grit, which is great for this composition, I however feel that more delicate lighting is needed here |

Accordian Playerby magneticComment: I can general observation.
1. If you crop the image just below his feet and position him so that he is in the bottom left corner (rule of thirds), this realy lift the shot.
2. I find the image too bright, for me poverty is encapsulated by dark and moody lighting. I would have tried to use more contrast to try and emulate this.
3. The guy seems to have a great face; it would have been great to have more of that in the frame. This would a better illustration of grit and hardship.
4. As a general observation and you are not alone in this. I do not necessarily associate a musician busking, with poverty, but maybe that is just me.

Kojo's Story of Hopeby TranquilComment: Great Photo, the balance and lighting are very good.
What stops me rating very high is that it does not sufficiently portray poverty for me, he looks more happy than hope...

The Great Depressionby arcticComment: This image is quite evocotive, and I realy like it, howver you do have to bare in mind that there will be a significant number who are like myself are non Americans and will not have the same assiciation with 1929 Wall Street Crash.
The UK depression was more focuseed in the mid 1930̢۪s. |

Home sweet home...by TerramarComment: Not sure a photo of a deck evokes poverty for me. However as a photograph you have got a good compositional balance, and some sharp focusing |

Poverty Begins when Education Endsby apboltComment: This is a well focused photograph of a building. From your title I would guess its a school, but that is a guess. A photograph should give me a little steer
Here I really struggle on the poverty theme, and the tiltle would seem to miss the theme as well.
