Wow. 5 CM exactly from the tips of the wrench to the edge of the photo on both the top and bottom and 2 CM from each side at the farthest point on the sides!!! (going by the large photo on the comment screen) Very impressive. Very very impressive actually. Far too impressive to have been done by eye. You spent some serious time measuring this. I am wondering however, that if you spent such time on getting it that perfect, then why is the distance between the pencil and the wrench on the very bottom edge of the photo 6cm, and the distance between the pencil and the wrench on the top edge of the photo 7cm?? I am thinking there was some kind of angle discrepency with the wrenches themselves and nothing you could do about it. You will have to forgive me for actually physically measuring your photo, but I just HAD to know. It is so beautiful. The lighting is great, setup is well...PERFECT and there is high humor appeal. You spent some time with this. It wasn't just thrown together. I really really hope people see this!!! I want to see this in the top 3. Seriously. I'd give you 3 10's if I could. A Pencil Garden - With a Weed

The lighting and angle are great. I like how you threw the weed in there. Also, I think it's cute that they are at different stages of "growing" with a couple of the pencils having half of an eraser and the rest having new erasers. Also, it's neat how you have all the words showing, but not all head on, some are being viewed at an angle. Focus is really great. Nice job and good luck in the challenge.

I don't know about pencil addiction. Personally this week I've had enough of pencils. LOL. Great photo though. original idea, and pretty creative. I like how the light shines through the ash tray and makes the glares. sometimes glares work, sometime they don't and you have pulled it off nicely here. I also like how the eraser is gone. Great job and good luck in the challenge.

Pretty neat effect and great close up. focus and angle are great. So great in fact, that I can see a tiny thread or hair between the first and second pencils on the right. lighting is also very good. good luck in the challenge.

Pretty neat photo. I think it would even be cool if it didn't have a pencil in it. Love the lights in the background. The focus is great except for that one little blur of a child. LOL. You can't trust them to stay still for anything. Oh well, not your fault. At first I was thinking you could have moved the photo up a bit as to not cut off her head, but then realized that it would have left too much dead space with the sky. I think you did a great job with this. Congrats and good luck in the challenge.

Absolutely aweful subject matter. Not visually appealing at all. Oh, come on, I'm just kidding! GEEZ. Actually, just the oposite. I think the photo is very well executed. Focus is great and I love how you are positioned to the left of the photo rather than in the center of the photo. Black in white works very nicely here, and the placement of the pencil is pretty cool. LIghting is good, but I wouldn't want the right side of the photo (the left side of your face) any brighter. Your ear seems to almost fade away into the background. Great job. Good luck in the challenge.

Interesting. At first, I thought this was a black and white. Further study though, proves me wrong. There is a gold piece in the middle of the inside part of the pen. Was the ALMOST black and white intentional? The little gold piece makes me like this even better I think. Excelent lighting and the angle is perfect. No distracting shadows or bright spots. Congrats on a great shot. Good luck with the challenge.

Red and White

This is really really cool. This could be a poster or an ad for something. It's very symetrical, however, the white pencil blends in with the whit background and the red one doesn't blend in with the red background. I realize that it's cause of the shadow, but it would be a really neat effect to make them both the same like that. Otherwise beautiful photo. Great job and good luck in the challenge.

wow, I don't think I've ever seen a humming bird up close like that. Kind of looks like an earless bat. Great use of pencils. The angle, lighting and focus are great. There's a bit of a glare on the yellow pencil, but I've found that you can't get too picky when dealing with animal photos. especially fast moving animals. Great shot. Good luck with the challenge.

Virgin On The Obscene

For having a metallic pencil, and a whole lot of metal in this photo, you did an amazing job job of keeping reflection and glare off all the metal. Beautiful lighting and lighting control. The angle is great for the purpose of having the pencil as the main subject. Personally, if there wasn't a "pencil" challenge to be met here, I would back the camera up, give it a wider angle and replace the pencil with a bottle of flavored lotion. Strawberry. And throw in a couple pair of edible undi... oh, now I've gone too far. LOL Great photo and good luck in the challenge.
