I think what you are trying to achieve here is a sense of dragging on the last day of summer for as long as possible and not wanting to let go of it knowing that tomorrow you have to go to school (or whatever) but I still find the darkness to be distracting. I almost didn't look long enough to come to this conclusion because my first impression was wow it's dark, move on.

Really well put together. I like how you maintained the color and still achieved a sense of desolation. The green foreground really offset the rust red of the truck (car?). And the shadowy entrance behind it really give this a sense of perspective!
