Thanks very much for all the great comments on this image. I really appreciate it!

This open space park is just north of where I live and I knew there were cottonwood trees in growing in the valley bottom. That's mostly where they like to grow. A beautiful clear afternoon, so I wanted to capture the glow that is created naturally with a backlit situation. Since this is a minimal editing challenge, I needed to make sure the colors came out right. I adjusted the color balance in camera to get what I needed to show the glow. And I used a circular polarizer for the sky. What I wanted to use and I currently do not own, are graduated ND filters. I intend on buying a set just for these types of shots. Could have balanced the sky out a little better that way.

BTW-My first Yellow! Woo Hoo! Thanks for all the votes and great comments. Very happy this did well.

HI Dennis,

I came back to this site for another look after not checking it out for awhile. NIce to see some of your photos from some places I know--I live in SW Boulder. I have really enjoyed looking at your photos, and the one with camera strapped on to the bike---super creative design, it came out great.

Stay off that barb wire at Rocky Flats though, it will not only shred you, but light you up!.
