 I had dozens of photos to choose from for this challenge. It was really hard, as they included dozens of styles as well. From the bokeh filled shots, to the artistic black and white macros, to the country fence and road.

I enlisted the help of my wife after I narrowed the choices down to about 6. She helped me get it to two, and then I landed on this. It was a hard choice. I love the lines and colors here, but also loved the shadows and detail in my other shot. Time will tell if I picked the correct one.

Wow, thank you all for the wonderful comments and votes. I was in the 7s for a few days before stabilizing into the 6.8s. I'm very happy where this finished, especially with the minimal editing rule set. I certainly got to know the "Picture Styles" of my camera better as I was switching them a lot for the various shots I was taking.

I am thinking to myself, it doesn't alter the mood and colors and values of the shot, which I very much like, but the asphalt kind of takes away from the oldness feel. Still gave you an 8!

Love the leading lines of both the wood fence that comes out from the bottom left and the road the curves out from the bottom right. Both these lines lead the eye down the leaf strewn path towards the woods and the lovely hues of green, gold, and a smattering of orange. Very well captured.
