 Not to make light of a serious problem. Dental fear is an unfortunate epidemic that can lead to serious consequences. In today's modern dental office most patients can be treated pain free and in comfort. Most dental phobia arises from childhood. A feeling of lack of control over the treatment builds up over years. Many parents who have fears pass these on to their children with comments made like "if you don't behave the doctor will give you a shot" or "Be good or the dentist is going to pull all your teeth". This ingrained fear can lead to years of dental neglect, poor self esteem and serious health problems.
I thank Phyllis for letting me put my knee on her chest, Lori for helping me set up the shot and being a great dental assistant, and Sharon for helping to snap the shutter. They were all great sports who humored me during our lunch break.

One more thing about dental paranoia. If you do not feel comfortable with your doctor, find someone you trust. A doctor patient relationship is of the utmost importance in creating a successful experience:)

Damn, you're right. I think I'm going to finally go get that extraction done, after a handful of abscesses ...:( Great shot BTW!

Very deserving of the ribbon. I've got a dentist appointment in two weeks and, for better or worse, I'll be seeing this image in my mind as the Doctor begins his work.

I just have to ask...is an enlarged print of this going to be on the ceiling of your office, where all your vict err, patients - can see it while you're working on them? ;-)

The dentist scares me. I'd rather give birth again rather than have any extensive dental work done :) This sums it up pretty well.

This image definitely DNMC ... those dentists are DEFINTELY out to get you :-) looks like you had a heck of a lot of fun taking this image ... really good image.

nice tone mapping, not over the top. composition includes too much clutter which may be resolved with some cropping right and bottom.

great sceen, you got some good players :) love it. just one issue:the light, i think using one or 2 strobes could made this a 10.
