The purple abberations around your statue might mean you should shoot a different subject. They're very distracting.

Are the colours of this from just reflections & sunlight, of is the statue floodlit in some way?
05/04/2002 10:20:00 PM
could have had more provoking angle

seems a little more head-on than from the ground up. interesting glow on the statue though.

A good representation of what the statue looks like, but not anything else interesting going on in the photo.

If you were able to get closer to being underneath this statue I would of liked the shot more. As it is now there is no perspective that says from the ground up.

some of the colors on the statue seem strange -- is this something natural to the statue, something your camera did, or something that happened in the computer? While some cotton candy clouds in the background would have been cool, that's just a completely personal preference thing.

nice, but was the camera at ground level or were you standing?

I hate to harp, but OPA (other people's art) really needs to have something added by the image - a unique perspective or moment in time, perhaps - to make it worthwhile. Possibly the worst chromatic abberations I've ever seen (not your fault, of course).

ooo nudity!!!
I like this shot a lot

Even though the angle of the photograph is up, it doesn't convey to me the impression that the camera was on or close to the ground. I know from some of my photos that it can be on the ground, and not look like it, but I think the final impression conveyed is what counts.

pretty statue, nice chest, good exposure. most shots against the sky underexpose the subject.
04/30/2002 10:07:00 AM
Beautiful! Love the glow on her body. Whats in her hands?
04/30/2002 09:50:00 AM
Nice high contrast / over sharpening effect. Gives shot an otherworldly feel

Oh MY!! The hard blue lines on the fg arm and wing are distracting. Nice subject though.

Very nice! Good detail, excellent composition

This lady rocks! But I'm not feeling the "ground up" thing here...
04/29/2002 01:26:00 PM
Arg. That darn chromatic abberration! Nicely composed though.
04/29/2002 12:53:00 PM
I think this might look better in black and white
04/29/2002 12:12:00 PM
Interesting photo... I'm sure that this is on top of a building or something, but this particular camera angle doesn't enhnace the "ground up" concept very well. Also, where is the blue/purple outlining on the arms/wings/dress coming from? Is that sky reflection? I'm not sure but it looks a little out of place.
04/29/2002 08:52:00 AM
strange/ interesting colours on this - was it like that or is the purple from your camera ?
04/29/2002 08:34:00 AM
Good contrast; Nice pic.
04/29/2002 07:38:00 AM
Great lighting

Where is this and what is that shes holding in her hands?

Thanx, all who commented. I admit that this really isn't a good photo and it deserved the average grade of 4,383. I was a bit frustrated though that nobody seemed to notice that the "from the ground up" theme was in the subject rather than the camera angle. I also have to say that there wasn't much creativity in this challenge altogether. I first shot a rather boring scyscraper photo and didn't really shoot this with the challenge in mind.

Quite few commented on the purple abberations. Partly this was deliberate. In photoshop I removed all yellow tones from the picture which I thought made it a bit more original and gave it a "otherworldly feel" as someone put it. But perhaps I overdid it...
