in case it wasn't obvious - I was only joking about the copyright thing :) Great picture, crudy mouse, can't believe you got 4 votes of 1. |

Whew! It sure was tough being quiet this week!:)
First of all I would like to issue a formal apology to those that I offended by using your pictures. When I first read the challenge criteria, I focused on the "advertisement" and "appeal to the users of DPChallenge". Since I love the Absolut ads, this was the only way I could think of to make it work. Then I started reading the copyright infringement posts. Here was the problem I faced--should I email the 25 or so users and ask--thereby risking about an 1/8th of the voters pretty much knowing which picture was which----or preserve anonymity? Very hard decision--but I decided to just wait and see what happened. Perhaps I made the wrong decision--and I apologize. I meant no harm.
The original (fair!) picture layout consisted of taking the top three winners from every challenge. Then I had lots of trouble getting them laid out, so I just started grabbing pictures and printing them horizontally and vertically. So, just because you don't see your picture doesn't mean it's not there---it might be just hidden or on the other side of the bottle!
The mouse, oh the agony. I can't even look at this picture without cringing! Let me just say to all--if you keep a box of old but seemingly useful stuff that you think you might ever need---throw it away! Far, far away! That crappy mouse (circa 1996?) still worked so I kept it for an *emergency*--? Needless to say, this project was done at night, and with all the other issues, I never even really looked at the dirty guy. Well, believe me I have learned that lesson! No more pack rat--all brand new stuff for me!:) What a great excuse to shop!
Thanks again for all the comments--you guys rock! |

Great work, and I'm quite flattered to have my photo appear. |

Very creative. I imagine it took some time to prepare that bottle too. Clever. I might have used a cleaner mouse though. |

I know its a digital photo because I am at the dpchallenge site. If I were not aware of the site would I know that this was an advertisement? |

Did you get copyright permission to use my photo??? J/K. Awesome idea AND implementation. One of my top three! |

Good concept, but you could have followed through a bit better in the execution. Getting the photos stuck on the bottle was probably work, but I'd have tried to do a neater job if I were going to bother. Your mouse is nearly as dirty as mine. The devil's in the details, ain't it? |

clever idea, wish the bottle wasn't leaning slightly, imagine how cool this could look with photoshop work on it to make the pictures appear to be insided the bottle, just a thought |

Interesting selection of photos. Clear shot and I liked the reflection. |

Very creative. I don't like the mouse though. I know it seems trivial but I think it should have been cleaner and maybe even a different color. An absolut great idea. |

I claim copyright violation - you never asked me if you could use my pictures :) Very creative absolut advert. The white background (light? printout?) shows a lot of dithering |

Nice idea, beautiful colors, but it's a little noisy for my taste. |

I like your creativity here in "wrapping the bottle". I also like the effect ot the light behind the bottle, though it might work better if balanced left to right. The inclusion of the mouse is icing on the cake. The bottle appears tilted about 2 degrees clockwise, though that may have been your intent? The shot appears quite noisy for some reason? High ISO? Long exposure? Over sharpened in post processing? The colors appear quite saturated, though it seems to work for this shot. Excellent effort. |

very interesting idea. I'm not sure the light behind works well. Would a softer light be better? Think cleaning the mouse would have been a good idea. That is a nit pick. Overall - I really like it. Creative. |

I really like the originality, and the shot is great too. Congrats on this effort. |

Great concept. Great photo. Would be a ten if it wasn't as grainy. |

interesting submission, must have been a hell of a job wrapping that bottle! |

I'm sure this took quite some time to put together. I'm impressed. |

nice, how'd you get the spotlight effect, is it with light or with a "real" absolut ad behind it? |

Interesting ... not sure if you are a brown-noser or not though! Nice pic ... clean your mouse though. |

I like this photo |

this would have been good if my photo was in it :-) but seriously, very unique and creative... |

Very Creative! You, obviously put a lot of work into this. Why a dirty mouse? |

This is nice! I like the creativity here. The only thing I think would have made it better is if the mouse would have gotten a 'spot' of windex before the shot :) You also could have used some of *MY* photos when making this project ;) Excellent work! |
|
|
05/06/2002 01:55:00 PM |
Nicely done -- did you ask everyone's permission? :) The dirty mouse doesn't help too much, you shoulda gotten a nice new shiny one. |
|
|
05/06/2002 01:54:00 PM |
Very creative idea, but I think the dirtiness of the mouse really hurt the overall effect. |
|
|
05/06/2002 01:52:00 PM |
It's really a ten but I took a point of for the dirty mouse |
|
|

You put my "INVERTIGO" photo on the top!! Excellent placement, thats where I thought it should go all along :) HA HA Great Concept Idea!
My 2 cents, I think you needed to give this just a bit more head room, and maybe a cleaner mouse. Still great photo! ...8 |

cool idea. this must have taken you forever! and thanks for having my photo in the middle (the curlicue)! i'm going to be very interested to find out how you lit this. also feels slightly tilted to the right. And there's some rough stuff on the left tabletop that kind of detracts. still a great image |
|
|
05/06/2002 06:42:00 AM |
Very creative (and hard work, I'm sure...) I wish the mouse was a little cleaner... |

I'll take a dozen ! Need my address? Too cool ! |
|
|
05/06/2002 02:07:00 AM |
Unless you printed those out on a paper than wrapped it around the bottle I think this will get disqualified other than that it gets a 9 due to spacing issues |
|
|
05/06/2002 12:17:00 AM |
Your going to get so many complaints that this is fake it just blows the mind. nice printer by the way. How did gou get such and even white spot? backlighting a sheet? |
|
|

in real life the mouse would be clean but this is really good! |
