I wanted to incorporate an aspect of the human I captured and in this case it is his passion, good competitive chess. I could have gone other traditional routes and actually had many to choose from. But this one continually spoke to me, both compositionally and in relation to subject

I like it how the black players are in the shadow and the white in the light! (Evil and Good)
Why is a part of the sunglasses missing on the right side? I think it would even be better with them all in the picture.... Good luck 6

Brilliant idea! The color noise in his stubble is a bit distracting, but still an 8

techincally well handled , and a fine idea, hard to make mirrored shades add to an understanding of the subject, this works.

Nice natural pose. I find that the reflection of the chess board is a bit distracting, but in another sense, it is interesting. It just detracts from his nice face a bit. The skin tones seem just a touch too yellow - maybe a little desat of yellow and an upping of a bit of red might help. Overall - nice. 7
