I love it! The fog makes this photo so simple. The yellow tone is also very good.

Stunning capture and excellent post processing. Even though you finished well I think it deserved a higher placement. Way to go!

Wow! Thanks for posting that Les. I tried it and it works like a charm. Of course I had to fidget with it but it's a great way to bring out a rather simple original ;) Thanks.

How you do this in basic I will never know (maybe you can tell me). I am just stunned by your post processing capabilities ;) Great job Les!

I really like this. Gave it an 8 in the challenge. Not as recognizable - love the movement of it. I love how he's coming out of "oblivion" almost. Congrats on top 20.

Born out of light. Very nice. Too subtle for competition.

Nice shot, Lesley. That little burst of colour really works well. Damn, 3 favourites!

Very nice tones, the leading line, your small bright subject and the fading to the mist. It's great.

Nice to see that you squeaked into the top 20 with this one. Very nice.

Further proof that the rule of thirds will take a back seat to other aspects of composition provided they are strong enough. In particular the great lines.

Like that you looked "back" towards the journey instead of ahead of the rider. Nice job.

Great shot! I love the fact that you can't see further down the road or over the side-rails off the street. Nice use of the fog! I think if the biker was riding towards the fog (away from the camera) it would fit the saying better. But it looks like a candid and you used what was given and you did a great job!

Very nice! Great lines and tonality. I just wish the person was a little sharper so you could see more of his character.

For this specific saying, I must say this is perfect. Great image.

Not really fond of the composition, the biker is to centered for my taste and too much "sky", I would have placed him up in the right corner as per the rule of thirds but other than that, great shot, love the tones in it and exposure and the fog really does a lot for this shot. Got a 7 from me.

the mist in the bg and the overall tones in this shot add to the good overall composition

I like how you've blown out the highlights in the background so you can't see where ride has really come from.

Very cool shot. Like he is riding out of nowhere. The texture of the pic works really well in my opinion. Gives it almost a fantasy feel. Well done.

I love the effect here - you can't see what's behind him because it's in the past! Love the soft subdued colours too.

Love the way the road trails off into the mist. I think I might have liked this even better with the biker heading in the other direction, into the unknown future...

maybe he should be facing the other way, so it's his destination that is washed out? Lovely picture, anyway.

SWEET!

Nice use of a centered comp, balancing it with leading lines to the third.

I don't know what you did to get the BG like this (maybe a graduated ND filter flipped the other way?), but it looks fantastic!

Of course, I'm a sucker for bikes and long lonely rides through the mist... (just had a 3 hour bike ride this evening that pretty much fit that description...)

Just for fun, I'm going to give this a 10. I like it!

The second one with this title so far ... both EXCELLENT! I love the fog and the hat and everything. For basic edit this is unbelievable. I'm curious where this is - I recently had the opportunity to shoot foggy-style too -there's one in my selected portfolio images if interested. 9

I love the effect the fog has (i'm assuming it's fog and not some pp) on the sudden fade away.
The colours also seem to add age and character to the shot.
Well done.

Nice shot. It looks very much like the roads we have at home, wouldnt be surprised if this turned out to be Durban. Anyway, stunning shot. The guy on the bicycle is perfectly emphasised by the mood of thie lighting and of course, the grass on the side of the railing. Fits wonderfully with the title. Well done.
