 Well, this was an interesting challenge, and not sure if the DPC voters are going to like what I have done, but I do hope they do. I had a "brainwave", and I am really pleased with the result.
For the "Gold" challenge my idea came from one of my childhood memories, of a Golden Dipped Apple. Now I had to workout just how to do this. I first decided that a plastic apple would look better than a real one, mainly due to weight.....

I then proceeded to spray paint the apple with car gold spray paint.
It looked great until I decided to add some gold glitter spray as well, which reacted with the base gold paint. I had to clean the apple with turps, and in doing so dropped it on to the floor, and it then rolled under a dirty cobweb shelf. I then cleaned it up a second time, and re sprayed it again, with the gold luster paint.

Two days later, I set up the container with water, and sprayed the surface of the water with some more gold paint. I tied the apple with gold thread, and hung it over the gold painted surface water container. I then could finally start taking photos.....

This is one of the results, and I hope you like it.

This is beautiful and quite different from many of your other shots. I think it should have place higher in the challenge. It's very creative, but that doesn't surprise me! The lighting is just perfect.

This is nice. I can almost see a litte bit of the apple colour showing through the gold which gives the gold a different ting in the colour.
