 Can't you just imagine a fairy or a smurf or something like that living under this mushroom - I can! I've never seen such odd looking mushrooms as these red ones with white spots. My husband and I went for a walk in the woods along a little road near the top of La Manga Pass on the way from our house to Chama. There were so many kinds of mushrooms in the woods. The light was low but the mushrooms seemed to glow with their own light.

Editing: Crop; Adjustment layers for levels, curves, hue/sat; flatten image; use quick mask to select out mushroom and some bottom leaves; invert selection; remove noise from background only; resize; smart sharpen; use sharpen tool on bits of mushroom cap; use blur tool on top of background and one odd looking bit on left side; save for web.

Colors are nice. Too bad the mushroom has damage on the gill cap. The stalk is a bit OOF

Marvelous deep greens and colors here. One small black "thing" halfway up on the left side I would hve cloned out, but makes no difference in regards to my voting here - well done!
