First I'd like to thank you all for the smarta$$ comments on my pencil picture I submitted for last challenge (something new) and I would like to say that if dpc decides to give prizes to winners I'd like to suggest a few sessions with a shirk as a prize ... to help me get over my pencil nightmares ...

Good movement. I got the feeling even before I read the title.

ok cool idea. but lets talk framing... its nice right now, but could be 10x better if you were to crop out the background and just closed in on the glass: ie : //umsis.miami.edu/~jjuroch/alive.jpg

cool idea. that's just one pencil, isn't it? while i like the idea, there are a few things about the implementation i don't like. the waterdrops on the inside/outside are distracting, some of the background (especiall the bright spot in the top right) is also. if you retry this, try wiping the drops off and position the vase onto a large white cardboard sheet (from your local arts store) so that the background and the underneath is nice and simple and doesn't distract. -- gr8photos (4)

Love the reflection of the pencil in the water. Makes it look kind of like a star. I think the water drops on the outside (or inside) of the container kind of take away from the over all look of the photo. There is a glare in the top right, but you did an excelent job keeping non wanted reflection and glare off the container. Really neat effect. Good luck with the challenge.

Decent shot. A little shallow. No pun intended.

Interesting, though the soaked pencil tip just seems so dark I can't focus on anything else, I keep being pulled to that. (Maybe that's the whole point!)

Nice idea. Maybe I would have chosen a less frontal point of view.

I think it would help if you had wiped off the container. It makes it a little out of focus. (6)

Good Idea, but I am a little perplexe with what to look at in the picture.
