A photo which actually _means_ something beyond the "I found a reflective surface" bland statement! In fact, a very powerful editorial image. Congratulations, it's my candidate for 1st place. |

Well thought out; good theme. Would have cropped this more tightly but the current size restrictions may have prevented this. 8 Journey |

Great, even with the lens reflection. Subtle use of lighting, very effective concept. If the out of focus 'past' is intentional then fair enough, otherwise you might want to spend some time on the DoF/vs focal distance trade-offs to sharpen it up a bit. |

i like it, the blur on the youth symbolizes passing and the new and angry looking guy on the left represents the present :) 9 paganini |

This shot carries a lot of emotional impact. I love that the photo is b&w, and you are in color. Love that the photo is defocused, and you are in focus. I'm sure you will get some comments about the edges of the photograph showing, but I think it gives the shot a "fragmented" feel that is appropriate for the emotion of the shot. Nice work. lhall-9 |

Awesome piece! I almost made a stupid suggestion, but looked at the pic again, wow, I just can't get over how well this is done. I keep thinking I'd like to see more of your "current" hand, but it just wouldn't work. Very well thought out and set up! 10, of course! Swash |

Yap, "the bloom of youth" (as the Bible notes) is like the passing of the wildflowers. Its a bummer getting old. I want to be 18 again. Enough editorializing. Wonderful idea here. I like it very much. The blurred youth picture helps the viewer to know that it is "the past" while the focus on your face is the current reality. -Bart ("focus") |

Since the last time I viewed your photo, there has ben an admin not on here that says that it's a valid reflection. why on earth would anyone think otherwise?? That's strange. Anyway, I like the use of the black and white with the color. Quite a nice touch. The focus and clarity are good, and the angle you have chosen is very good. I like this photo a lot. ~Hbunch7187~ |
