This is a great photo of Dewy! I met him at the Anchor D this spring and I never saw him without a smile, but I love the serious side you captured. And your right, he never stays still!

Another great portrait and one of my top three. Now there is a real modern day cowboy.

What a great face! Very nice job on the conversion, and while I wouldn't have thought to try it, the crop works out very well! I'm being super nit picky, but I think I would have liked a full black border.

Very nice portrait. A really 'cowboy-y' cowboy, if that makes any sense. :-)

Back to bump this up a notch. Really says "cowboy" -- and a great, slightly weathered face. Good use of b&w.

Love the capture of the eyes in this shot. A real hard stare that comes from experience. The black and white conversion works well to show character in his face without making him look like a saddle bag with eye.

Absolutely love this photo. The composition/positioning of the cowboy to the right, while he's looking toward the empty space. The quality of the photo, as seen in rich details and skin. The crazy right eye. The very blurred background emphasizes the cowboy. It's great.

I think you could have taken more advantage of the dramatism of the rugged face with a tighter crop on the left side. Square crop cutting left side by the edge of shoulder, and right side a litle right of the ear, looks great, end helps to drive attention to the expression and skin texture.

I do not see how the white border adds to the image. Still a good portrait..7

Fabulous dynamic tonal range -B&W tones really showcase this cowboy. Dewy's face is illuminated wonderfully (no shadows under the brim of the hat). We see all the features and years of experience not just upon his face but in the look in his eyes. Great focus too. Main subject is showcased in sharp detail while the background is blurred. There may be some action going on in the backdrop as that we can see movement (ranch or rodeo as that I think I see a fence?) but that does not in any way distract our attention away from the main subject. Excellent capture.
