 First of all, my condolences to Sean's family and friends. I didn't know Sean or his photography until this tragedy but from what I have seen he was a very good photographer and friend to many. He will be missed.

I took this photo in the spirit of his best DPC challenge entry. I liked my first attempt with silhouette photography and so did Sean from what I read. This shot was taken with me as the cowboy carrying my saddle into the sunset (yes, I have a love for riding and horses). I took several shots in different poses with two of them making the cut but I thought this one to be the best. Additionally I was lucky enough to include a jet streak just as Sean did in his. Anyway, I hope this is a fitting tribute.

My first ribbon, two faves and PB!! I am so honored to make the "frontpage" in this challenge. So many good entries. I was so suprised to see the score on this the first day(7.8) and now even more suprised to see it here. Thanks to all the voters and commenters!!!

The jet (star) trail was intentional, I thought it added something that would be reminiscent of Sean's shot "The Cowboy".

Oddly enough, when I checked my statistical favorites, Sean was top on my list. He will be missed by all......Happy Trails Cowboy

I like the image but find it a bit oversharpened, and the colors are too intense for my taste. You must have waited a long time for the jet plane to show up !!!

Love the bold and vibrant hues in this capture. The silhouette of the cowboy holding the saddle contrasts quite nicely against the vibrant sunset colors of reds, purples and blues. You even managed to capture a streak in the sky that invokes us to think back upon Jawnyrico's blue ribbon winner "The Cowboy". Composition and mood is wonderful too. Nice symbolic touch with the silhouetted cowboy carrying a saddle as he goes off into the sunset. The message to me is that the 'ride' is done. This cowboy now ventures off into the sunset (symbolic of life's journey ending) to hang up his saddle.

Beautiful. The background colors are a tad bit too much for my taste, but it's very appealing as 'art'. Well done.

a tad oversaturated (banding in sky) and oversharpened (halos around the cowboy). great silhouetting, classic motif well recreated. not sure about the motion trail.

One of my ribbon picks. I think silos are very difficult to pull off, but you've done it here. Background colors are simply gorgeous, and I find myself wondering if they are the real thing ...
