 Rex greedily eyes the pumpkin pie after thanksgiving dinner at my sister in law's.

Had a friend's daughter sitting behind the table posing Rex and making sure the fork didn't flop. It's hard to crouch down to pose the puppet but still keep your head down. (The girl that was helping me says she is interested in photography. I'm hoping to interest her in participating here on DPC.) The color of the cabinet was close that of the puppet, so I did a fair amount of editing with layers in order to get Rex to stand out against the background.

This was also my first effort using my new 430EX speedlight, and my aim of the flash head seems to have created a slight glare on the cabinet in the background. I think I toned it down sufficiently so that I shouldn't get dinged much on that.

Pre-challenge notes:
I'll probably get creamed again in this challenge. Rex never seems to go over very well as a subject here, but next to my shoehorn, he's one of my favorites. Certainly more interesting than a plate of turkey. I predict a high 4 due to lack of broad appeal.

Post-challenge notes:
Rex is pleased that he came in with a higher score than last time he played here.

He was beginning to think nobody liked him. At least he was fed both times.

This entry is another good example of why overall score averages are not the only thing to look at. The commenters average vote was way above the final average, and the critiques were fairly minor. This all tells me I had a decent entry that appealed to a narrow group.

I should have figured this was yours Steve. Great shot. I love the stuffed animals. And the pies in the background really help it. It should have scored higher, but then you would have beat mine. ;-)

my favorite too, except this year my mom decided to try a new recipe using molasses. This year we all went for the Apple pie
